Each view presents the same data in a different way: a tree, raw text, a table, a node diagram, a chart, a rendered preview, an image, or a feed reader. The available views depend on the format. This page lists every view and shows how to switch. ## The view modes | View | What it shows | Pro | | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------- | | Tree | A collapsible tree of keys and values | Free | | Raw | The formatted source text, with editing | Free | | Table | Rows and columns, with sort and filter | Free | | Diagram | A node graph of the structure | Pro | | Chart | A line, bar, scatter, or pie chart | Free, multi-column is Pro | | Preview | A rendered diagram (Mermaid) or document (Markdown, MDX), or a sandboxed page (HTML) | Free | | Image | An SVG, drawn as an image, with zoom, pan, backgrounds, and a size strip | Free | | Feed | RSS and Atom items as a reading list | Pro | | Both | Source and Preview side by side (Markdown, MDX, HTML), or source and Image (SVG) | Pro | The Tree, Raw, and Table views are free. The [Chart view](https://prettify.tools/docs/chart-view) is free for one column; plotting more than one column at once is Pro. Free users get one free try of each Pro view per day. ## Which formats get which views | Format | Views | | -------- | ------------------------------- | | JSON | Tree, Raw, Table, Diagram | | JSONL | Tree, Raw, Table, Diagram | | YAML | Tree, Raw, Table, Diagram | | CSV | Table, Raw, Tree, Chart | | XML | Tree, Raw, Table, Diagram, Feed | | Mermaid | Preview, Raw | | Markdown | Preview, Raw, Both | | MDX | Preview, Raw, Both | | HTML | Preview, Raw, Both | | SVG | Image, Raw, Both | The Feed view appears for XML only, and only when the document is an RSS or Atom feed. The Chart view appears for CSV. The tabs show only the views the current format supports. You can also switch from the Command Palette: 1. Press `Cmd+K` (Mac) or `Ctrl+K` (Windows, Linux). 2. Type the view name, for example `view table`. 3. Select the command. On the desktop app, the View menu switches between Tree, Raw, Table, and Diagram. ## Export a view Each view exports what you see. - Tree and Chart export a PNG or SVG image. - Table exports a CSV file with the same columns as the table. A nested object shows as dotted columns, such as `address.city`, and an array shows as JSON text in one cell. - Raw uses the Download button in the toolbar. - Diagram exports a PNG or SVG image from its own menu. - Mermaid Preview exports a PNG or SVG image. - Image has Download in the toolbar, and the SVG Tools panel copies the SVG or a React component. SVG Tools is Pro. - Markdown and MDX Preview export HTML, and PDF on the web.
